The Australian Desalination School will provide 5 days of professional development and high-tech training on membrane water treatment. The multimedia presentation provides a thorough understanding of RO technologies, including nanofiltration (NF). The main presenter at the Schools, David H Paul, has over 30 years experience in RO operations, management, consulting and training. The instruction effectively and enjoyably proceeds step-by-step from the basics to advanced topics. No one gets lost! Dozens of video clips and numerous animations make technical information easy to understand. Video clips include the latest in membrane and element manufacturing and the new large diameter elements. It’s not uncommon for participants to say “I learned more in this training program than I’ve learned in 10 years of working with RO units!”
 
Who should attend?
The Australian Desalination School is designed to provide background knowledge covering desalination by RO and NF. No previous desalination experience is required or will be assumed. Attendees to the School will come from various backgrounds including:
*          Specialists and non-specialists working in the area of desalination.
*          Professional staff involved in water management, consulting, mining and resource management organisations.
*          Operators and technical staff of RO and NF facilities.
 
Course Description
The School is an intensive 5 day course that is based on seminars presented by David H. Paul Inc (DHP). Since 1988 DHP has been the world’s leader in providing high-tech training on advanced water treatment technologies. The School will allow scientific, engineering, technical, policy and management personnel to gain a broad education on an extensive range of desalination topics. The week will cover the fundamentals of RO, operation and maintenance of RO plants, assessment methods, applications and management. Much of the information presented in this school is typically not available in O&M manuals and other vendor materials. The program will include both a world and Australian overview of desalination together with case studies and details of specific installations.
 
Cost
AU$3230 (incl GST), for registrations paid by Thursday 24th Dec 2009. This covers notes, tuition, morning and afternoon refreshments and lunches, plant visits.
