Accreditation in radiation protection

The Australasian Radiation Protection Accreditation Board is sponsored by three societies; ACPSEM, AIOH and ARPS.

The purpose of ARPAB is to provide a nationally recognised accreditation system in radiation safety. Presently, ARPAB offers accreditation in ionising radiation, and to a level that can be achieved within one or two years of completing a science degree.

ARPAB is soon to expand the accreditation system by offering recognition of skills at the top (expert) level within ionising radiation. This top level accreditation will be designed to integrate with ARPANSA documents that have been published in recent years.

ARPAB is also close to formalising a fast-track system that will be available to people with suitable experience. The fast-track system will allow these people to achieve ARPAB accreditation in a short period of time, through recognition of the work they have done or are presently doing.

Each society provides 2 members to the Board, and ARPAB membership is presently;
