A long time between drinks

It has been a long time, since my previous (first) blog entry. But I have returned to write more. I must start with an apology for a missing issue of Radiation Protection in Australasia. Those people who were at the conference in Perth, may recall that I promised a final issue for 2009. You may have noticed, by the lack of a copy of the journal in your letter box, that this final issue didn't eventuate. Creation of an issue of the journal is a process that involves a number of people who magically turn a number of documents and email into the final printed product that is posted to members. I didn't allow enough time for the creative publication process to take place before the end of 2009.

The plan for Radiation Protection in Australasia during 2010 is to have 3 issues to be published towards the end of April, August and November. Having now set a rough schedule the next hurdle is for you all to contribute to the journal. I know that many ARPS members are doing so wonderfully work and it is a great shame that others members are not informed about what you are achieving. Please do consider sending something to the journal. I realise JIF, or the lack of JIF, is a good reason that RPinA misses out sometimes. But where JIF is important even a one page summary of your work and publications would be highly informative.

Now that I've hassled everyone about contributing to the journal, I can't think of another thing to say. I'll sign off there with the promise to write something more interesting, soon.
