The role
The Senior Health and Medical Physicist participates in the administration of the Radiation Safety Act 1999, in particular to monitor and enforce compliance with the Act in the areas of public and private-sector health, mining and manufacturing industries, teaching and research, and the environment.
The role is also responsible for measuring and assessing exposures to ionising and non-ionising radiation and providing associated health and medical physics related scientific services and advice.
Additionally, the position promotes the radiation safety and protection of persons and the environment, and the security of radioactive substances.
