International engagement
Australian and New Zealand radiation protection professionals make an active contribution to the international community through the International Radiation Protection Association’s Task Groups, professional networks and collaborative activities.
International contribution
The International Radiation Protection Association brings together radiation protection societies and professionals from around the world to support the development of radiation protection practice, professional knowledge and international cooperation.
IRPA Task Groups provide a way for specialists to work collaboratively on important and emerging issues. Their work spans areas including radiation protection education and training, naturally occurring radioactive materials, non-ionising radiation, public understanding, radiation safety culture, tissue reactions and the future of the system of radiological protection.
Participation by Australian and New Zealand professionals demonstrates the expertise and international influence of the Australasian radiation protection community. It also creates opportunities to share regional experience, learn from international colleagues and contribute to the future direction of radiation protection.
